The Farmhouse

Casino del Poggio is an old farmhouse, immersed in the countryside of Tuscany. Of medioeval origin, it has gone through several stages of restoration since the XX century. The building consists of the main house and other annexes.The farmhouse which dates back to the XIV century has been modified and rebuilt over the centuries. Being purchased and restored during the 80's, it is today a private family residence whose holiday apartments can be rented in a very cosy and relaxing environment, ideal for your holidays in Siena and in Tuscany. Surrounded by an old olive grove and centuryold oaks, Casino del Poggio lies immersed in lush greenery next to the woodland. From its vantage point which is a very short walk from the village of Rapolano Terme and its hot springs you can enjoy enchanting views over Siena, the Sienese Crete, Chianti and Val d'Orcia .

The old barn has been turned into a romantic apartment, equipped with a proper woodburning oven and a fireplace. The entrance faces east allowing beautiful views of the sunrise from the pergola over the Sienese countryside. The apartment was created with special attention to details, preserving unique pieces such as the old beams of the trussed roof and the vaulted masonry windows.

Tramonto

Originally the building was used as a stable for carthorses commonly employed in agriculture in the past. Through meticulous restoration it has been turned into a ground floor flat. Free from architectural barriers it is suitable for disabled guests with vaulted ceilings and elegant stylish furniture. The main entrance faces west so that you can enjoy the sun while setting on the Sienese Crete. It opens up on to the lawn which, with chairs and tables, is a very relaxing area and from which it is possible to gather aromatic herbs to cook with and pluck fruit from the orchard surrounded by the cypresses and the olive trees next to the swimming pool.
